Last issue of the year, Dig Magazine

Well, the summer has been over for a few months but here at Dig Mag we still had an issue left to produce. Thankfully, the editors sat down and put together the 2010 photo issue and I got the call to shoot the cover image.  This is a set up shot, done at sunset, in beautiful Santa Barbara, California.  I used 6 Nikon SB flashes on stands while my photo editor tossed the ball for Todd. It took a few tries but I think the final image is really good.

Many thanks to Peter B, and Todd Rogers who dove into the cold sand at least 25 times for the shoot.

Recent Work, Published

I shoot quite a bit of volleyball out here on the west coast, but this summer it has been a bit more than usual.  I am a Senior Photographer for Dig Magazine, the official magazine of the AVP, (Association of Volleyball Professionals) and I'm lucky enough to get out to the sand often to work with these super talented athletes. Sometimes, if I'm on, I'll get a few keepers.

Here is a cover of Phil Dalhausser and his incredible reach, getting ready to swat a ball down.  So far this summer has been very good for Phil and his partner Todd Rogers. They have had big wins on both the AVP and the FIVB tours.Dig Magazine, 2010, Number Three

I've finally had a few minutes to work on my neglected web site, but it's finally coming together.  I am hoping to post very current work and more portfolios in the next few weeks.  Please stay tuned and thanks for taking the time to look at the site.
